Trainings

Training your team to work more effectively is a high value for leaders. Trainings can be provided either virtually or in-person. See current selection below:

Seven STEPS to Personal Resiliency:

As the political conflict, natural disasters, wars, homelessness, mass shootings and inflation have shown us: crisis is here to stay. We used to think in terms of "coping", but now we need to think in terms of resilience. In this training, your employees or team will learn practical resiliency skills. Resiliency skills are essential for preventing burnout and remaining effective in the midst of ongoing uncertainty and challenges. You will learn how to stay balanced and keep moving forward while still maintaining authenticity and connection with yourself and others.

Anxiety coping strategies for EVERYONE:

Anxiety is an increasingly common by-product of our fast paced, stressful world…and no one is immune. Whether you're the CEO, lead minister at your congregation, or a mentor to one teen girl, you are highly likely to either experience anxiety yourself, or work with someone who is currently struggling with unwanted anxiety symptoms. Learn skills to cope with anxiety in your own life as well as interventions to use when walking alongside someone with anxiety. This tool in your toolkit is one you’ll go back to again and again.

FAITH BASED: Ministering Effectively to GenZ:

They’ve arrived! It’s GenZ. Born 1997-2012, these young adults and soon-to-be-young adults are filling your ministries and starting to lead. They have unique characteristics that God will use to mightily shape his Kingdom and also deficits that come from living in a sin-filled world (Just like all of us!). Learn the common traits of GenZ and how we need to shape our messaging and ministries to effectively reach, engage and minister to our future church.

SURVIVING SECONDARY TRAUMA

We are deeply changed when we engage in helping others. Even if we try to shield ourselves from the effects of “helping” work, we experience an unavoidable emotional cost when exposed to the suffering, inequities, tragedies and systemic failures experienced by others. One of the most important decisions we make is how we handle the emotional toll that results from “helping” work. This training provides an opportunity for the helping professional to explore how to bear witness to others’ trauma and still live one’s own life fully. Participants will learn what steps to take to sustain oneself for the journey.

FAITH BASED: Change Management for Church Professionals:

We don’t usually admit this, but much of church work is getting people to change their thoughts, behaviors and patterns. While we trust the Holy Spirit to do amazing things in people’s lives, learning some strategies to move people closer to Kingdom-minded objectives supplements what the Holy Spirit is already doing. In this class, we’ll be using the example of how to bring people along on the journey of exploring race relations through the lens of Change Management. Whether you plan to move your congregation or ministry leaders further down the road on the issue of race or not, your learnings will be applicable to a wide-range of ministry scenarios.

FAITH BASED: Caring for People: Refer Out or Keep In?

As ministers to people in all walks of life and situations, we want to do our best to bring Christ’s love to them. But how do we know when the situations they bring us are beyond our training and competence? How do we know when we could actually be causing them more harm than good? Learn how to make strategic decisions about the care you provide to the people in your body, so that Christ’s name is glorified and people get the appropriate care they need.
